Naming and brand names

A name you can register, take a domain for and not redo a year later. Ready from 5 working days — with the reasoning behind every option, not a list of pretty words.

Who it's for

  • Founders launching a brand who do not want to redo the name after the first registry check.
  • Companies whose name clashes with a competitor, cannot be registered or does not read in a new market.
  • Businesses launching a separate product or division that needs a name inside an existing brand.

What's included

Brief and research
The market, competitors, the audience and the words it uses for the product.
Name platform
What the name should mean, which associations fit and which do not.
Long list and short list
A wide list of options, narrowed to the ones that pass the checks.
Domain and trademark check
Available domains and a preliminary registry search before you choose.
Reasoning
Why each shortlisted name works: meaning, sound and risks.

Naming approaches

  • Descriptive name

Says plainly what the business does. Easy to understand, hard to register.

  • Coined word

An invented word with no history. A free domain and a clean registration, but it needs advertising.

  • Metaphor

An image from another field that carries the quality you need onto the brand.

  • Acronym

A short form of a long name. Compact, but it means nothing on its own.

  • Founder's name

A personal story and trust. Harder to sell the business apart from the name.

  • Compound word

Two roots in one word. Keeps the meaning and stays unique.

A working shortlist is almost always mixed: different approaches clear registration differently.

The price depends on the number of directions and the depth of the checks. We quote after the first call.

How we work

  1. Brief

We collect positioning, audience and constraints: languages, markets and what is already taken.

  2. Research and semantics

We look at competitor names and the words the market uses for the category.

  3. Generation

We build a long list across several approaches at once, so there is something to choose from.

  4. Checks

We drop taken domains and names that would not survive registration. A shortlist remains.

  5. Presentation

We present the shortlist with the reasoning and hand over everything we produced.

What you get

  • A shortlist of names with the reasoning behind each option.
  • A report on available domains and a preliminary trademark registry search.
  • A name platform: meaning, associations and the limits of use.
  • The full long list, so you can come back to it when you launch your next product.

FAQ

Do you register the trademark?

No. We run a preliminary registry search and drop the clearly conflicting names, while the registration itself is handled by a patent attorney.

How many options will we see?

The shortlist holds 5–10 names that passed the checks. We hand over the long list with hundreds of options in full.

What if none of the names fit?

One round of revision is part of the format: we refine the criteria from your comments and build a new shortlist.

Do you check the name in other languages?

Yes, for the markets in the brief: we look at meaning, readability and unwanted associations.

Shall we find the name?

Tell us about the product and the market — in 30 minutes we'll say which format you need and how long it will take.
